While Taras was the one who wanted the alchemy station, Nozomi is the one who uses it. He's only interested in reading about the potions. Nozomi is interested in their...stimulating effects.
Taras pretends to be oblivious to his wife's clearly non-academic interest in alchemy.
The couple heads out to the performance park. Taras's presence here is solely supportive; Nozomi intends to audition for a gig. Her nervousness was only slightly dimmed when Taras promised to come with her.
However nervous she may be, she gives the audition her all. She holds up a coin, claiming she can make it disappear.
She dramatically slaps the coin between her hands. Her palms instantly touch as the coin is simultaneously translocated to her back pocket.
Quickly, she mentally recites an incantation and "transforms" the coin into butterflies. They rapidly flap their wings as they erupt from her hands.
She gets the gig. Exhilarated from her success, she drags Taras to his feet and spins him into an underarm turn.
Before he can respond, she crushes her lips against his. For a moment, he's too stunned to do anything, but he kisses her back with just as much intensity.
"Let's go home," Nozomi pants. After a kiss like that, Taras's imagination runs a bit wild.
Having a celebration party was not exactly what he had in mind, but he enjoys the opportunity to make some friends. He greets one of his co-workers, Margo Tumeke. She makes work so much easier, always cracking jokes to pass the time. He's happy she came.
High on the wave of confidence that followed getting her gig, Nozomi wants to give her guests some free entertainment.
Unfortunately, her gag wand is not very responsive to her commands. She throws the useless stick onto the floor, a crack resounding in the small room. Her cheeks burn with embarrassment, but no one seemed to notice anyways. Now feeling ignored, she slinks back to her room, her head low.
Taras takes care of the clean-up after the guests leave. He stares at his sleeping wife for a moment, a warm feeling slowly spreading throughout his body.
Maybe this is why people get married.
AN: Nozomi had an opportunity to get a gig at the park, so I went for it. She got it!
I felt a bit disappointed at the party; I thought she could perform for tips or at least just perform for the guests, but on the home lot it's not possible! So I try to have her perform a few tricks, but her magic seems to be fickle.
That last bit about Taras feeling warm when he seems Nozomi sleeping made me go "awww" IRL. They're a cute couple!
ReplyDeleteI've never really played the magician career. It seems a little weird, and I remember acrobat also having a lot of hit and miss features.
Yeah, they are *way* cuter than I initially imagined (Taras was going to be a sleazy con artist, using his looks to get more money from his fortune telling clients and Nozomi was going to be a very talented but very shallow and self-centered magician, only seeking her next thrill) but when I actually played them they were constantly rolling wishes to be nice to be people and to each other, sooo the game trumped the story!
DeleteAnd yes, I was super disappointed that Nozomi couldn't perform for her guests. And also, for a mage, her career related magic *sucks*. She rarely performs a trick correctly on the first time and often makes the same mistake several times in a row. Oh well, I guess it's inexperience.
I love how Nozomi is using actual magic and pretending it's all tricks. Such a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteThe two of them really are becoming an adorable couple <3
Haha yeah, Nozomi is actually a pretty good mage since her magic skill is at level 2 or 3 (compared to Taras's level 1) but when it comes to her career, she's not too great yet. Maybe she's not used to pretending?
DeleteAnd they *are* super cute! Taras always rolls wishes to hug her or stroke her cheek. Nozomi finally rolled her first wish to kiss him (before it was just to play a game with him or chat, lol)
